Police in Spain shows support to boy with autism who needs to take walks during lockdown

In an effort to make lockdown more bearable, Spanish police in Oviedo showed support to a mother and her boy with autism, who were rebuked by their neighbors for going out for a walk.

The sudden changes that COVID-19 has brought to daily life can be particularly hard for people with autism as routines become disrupted.

In this video, two police officers are seen heading towards the mother and her son, who are waiting at a window, to hand out a gift box containing a pair of sunglasses for the little boy.

“The fact of walking is an inescapable necessity for him”, the police said. “The real heroes are the little ones.”
