Pilot project to provide disabled people taxi services launched in Vladivostok

In the Russian Far Eastern region of Primorye, a project has been launched to provide social taxi services for people with disabilities, the press service of the local government reports.

In pilot mode, the project will be implemented in Vladivostok, although all disabled people in the region who visit the city will be able to use social taxi services. Every person with disability can take advantage of social taxi services when traveling to medical institutions, social services, and transport infrastructure facilities. At the same time, the social taxi service will be available not only to residents of Vladivostok, but also to all residents of the whole region who came to Vladivostok, for example, for treatment.

In addition to medical and medical-social examination institutions, these include the management and departments of the Pension Fund of Russia, branches of the Social Insurance Fund, multifunctional centres  and a social support centres, as well as organisations included in the register of social services providers of the Primorie region, the Vladivostok branch of the Moscow Orthopedic centres ”, bus and railway stations.

The project will be financed from the regional budget. Almost 73 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes. During the year, one person and his companions can make trips worth up to 10 thousand rubles. (150 USD)
